Devotion - Tufted Puffin - Limited Edition Hand Embellished Print

from $28.00

Limited Edition prints are hand embellished by the artist to enhance the texture and depth of these remarkable pieces. Embroidery is added to selected locations where it will best highlight the details within the piece. These prints are limited to only 50 total. As these are made-to-order, please allow 1-2 weeks to ship.

Tufted puffins (Fratercula cirrhata) are one of the two species of puffins found on the Pacific Coast. They nest in burrows they dig deep into cliffsides. During breeding season, tufted puffins dress up with a bright orange bill and long pale yellow tufts on either side of their head.

They continue their elaborate courtship displays throughout breeding season as they exchange places at the nest for their shift changes. Utterly devoted to each other and their offspring, these birds are ideal partners.

This piece was created on sustainably harvested birch bark using a variety of classic and modern embroidery techniques. I included Japanese delica beads to enhance their prominent beak.
