Each year, I select a piece to reimagine with some seasonal flair. This is the 2023 piece! This limited edition of my beloved “Vulpes zerda” piece has been hand embellished with some lovely seasonal lights. Each signed and numbered one of 10 will come with a stamped certificate of authenticity.

Fennec foxes (Vulpes zerda) are found in the deserts of northern Africa. The characteristic large ears of this fox are not only used to hear their underground prey, but also to help dissipate heat in their extreme environment. Its sandy colored hair is another useful adaptation to desert climate - it helps to reflect sunlight during the day. While not categorized as endangered, it is still listed as protected in Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, and the Western Sahara due to trapping for fur and sale to tourists.
