The Sneed pincushion cactus (Coryphantha sneedii) is a succulent perennial with bright white spines and white, pink, lavender, or brown tips. Flowers may vary from white to pink to pale rose. These lovely plants occur on exposed areas of steep, sloping limestone and flower from April to September. They were listed as endangered in 1979 in all areas where they are found in south New Mexico and west Texas. Threats include illegal harvest by plant collectors, air pollution from El Paso/Juarez, and trail and campground development on park lands.

A portion of the proceeds from this piece will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund to aid their efforts to protect endangered species and landscapes worldwide.
